Abstract: This paper is a part of research project on ornamental and floral plant diseases in China supported by National Natural Science Foudation of China.Twelve fungous dis-eases on fourteen species of garden trees and flowers collected from Kunming,Chongqing and other places were listed.Among them,five diseases were reported for the first time in China and two host plants were reported for the first time in China and six host plants were reported for the first time in Yunnan Province and Chongqing City.The morphological characteristics of each species are described and some of them are illustrated.Specimen are deposited in Mycological Herbarium of the Plant Pathology Institute of Yunnan Agricul-tural University (MHYAU),Kunming. Five of them are new records of known species in China,i.e.1.Alternaria ramulosa (Sacc.) Toly causing spot blight on Cordyline stricta,distribution Kunming Oct.1988 common.2.Diplodina acerina (Pass.) Sutton causing stem blight on Homalocladium platycladium,distribution Chongqing Sept.1985 occasional.3.Macrophoma falconeri P.Henn.causing spotted wilt on Ficus microcarpa,distribution Chongqing Sept.1985 common,and causing spotted wilt on Hoya cinnamomi,distribution Kunming Apr.1988 occasional.4.Hendersonia culmiseda Sacc.causing leaf spot on Machilus yunnanensis, distribution Kunming Nov.1985 common,and 5.Stigmina deflectens (Kart.) M.B.Ellis causing spot blight on Magnolia grandiflora,distribution Kunming Apr.1981 occasional.
