Abstract: The experiments on E.maideni were carried out in Yuxi City to test influ-ences of different stump heights,top pruning styles and pruning seasons on the biomassof fuelwood.The data indicated that top pruning could increase biomass of fuelwood:the inean biomass of fuellwood with top pruning was 12.6 times (up to 16.9 times)thatwith non-pruning.The optimal stump height was 30 cm,top pruning with knife wasslightly better than with saw,and pruning in the winter was even better than in the spr-ing:the fuelwood biomass with winter pruning was 48% (up to 56%)more than thatwith spring pruning.Therefore,the harvest season sliould be selected in the time whentree iS in dormancy.The result can be used as an instruction for the management of Eucalyptus fuelwood forest in Yuxi district.
