Abstract:
Ten tree species were studied for their fire resistant features from the middle-high altitude areas of northeastern Yunnan Province. Combustibility related factors including the moisture content of leaves and twigs, ignition temperature, gross fat content, crude ashes content and calorific value of combustion of the tree species were tested and analyzed, and the order of fire resistant capacity of the 10 tree species was arranged. Combined with the biological, ecological and silvicultural characteristics of the 10 tree species,
Illicium simonsii and
Myrica nana were chosen as better fire resistant tree species in the middle-high altitude areas of northeastern Yunnan Province. It was showed that the integrated fire resistant properties of
Illicium simonsii were superior to that of
Myrica nana.
