Abstract: From the regional characteristics of Yunnan Province and the ecological environment in urban center of Kunming City,the principles of plant species selection for the Central Park of Kunming City were elaborated.It was proposed that the landscaping plants should be disposed regarding to space and color allocation by integrating ecological and landscape requirement,as well as other ornamental consideration.The plant landscape built in the Central Park of Kunming City should not only meet cultural and ornamental demand in the downtown area,but also meet the environmental demand of the ecologically sensitive zone in the city center.
