Abstract:
To find out the suitable seedling container for Schima superba grow, physics and chemistry characteristics of matrix, seedling height, ground diameter morphological indexes, root vigor physiological indexes and afforestation effects of barerooted seedling were measured with seven different type and size of containers. The results are following: different type and size of containers exert tremendous influence on the seedling growth and afforestation effects. The height, ground diameter, quality index and total weight of seedlings grew in plastic pots (D × H=10cm × 120cm) were better than in the other containers. The ratio of height and ground diameter, root activity and afforestation survival rate of nonwoven fabric (D × H=45cm × 120cm) were better than in the other containers. In general, nonwoven fabric (D × H=45cm × 120cm) should be selected in the afforestation of Schima superba for the ideal costeffectiveness and highly afforestation survival rate, saving rate and initial growth.
