A PRELIMINARY SURVEY OF THE TROPICAL CABINET TIMBERS OF YUNNAN PROVINCE

This paper covers a list 13 species of the most valuable cabinet timbers mainly in Xishuangbanna.It is really selected abstract from the part 2 of the introduction and the appendixes(3,6) of the-book entitled "The Tropical and Subtropical Timbers of Yunnan province",(In Chinese) by the auther published by the Science press.This paper is written for the reference for the forest-survey conducted by this college in this region.The classified list covers the following timbers:(1) The 4 most valuble cabinet timbers commonly used locally(see 1-4) of this paper;(2) the 3 most heavy cabinet timbers(see 5-7);(3) the teak and allied timbers(see 8-10) and some Homalium(see 11);(4) some timbers belonging to Leguminosae(see 12-13).
