A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE TAXONOMY AND ECOLOGICAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE HIGHER FUNGI FROM GUIZHOU PROVINCE OF CHINA

  • This is a report of a preliminary survey on the higher fungi in Guizhou province during 1979-1983.It includes 465 species,belonging to 2 subphyla,5 classes,16 orders,46 families and 137 genera.Five new records are mentioned,they are Cantharellus purpuraceus Iwode,Pulveroboletus sulphyreus(Fr.) Sing.,Filoboletus mycenoides P.Henn.,Marasmius perforans(Hoffm.ex Fr.) Fr.,and Vibrissea truncorum Fr.Due to its temperate and humid clmate,the various topography and the rich flora,Guizhou is also suitable fora rich fungous flora.The natural resources of the fungi are very rich as revealed from our survey,and it covers some edible and medical species having been utilized for a long historical period.Therefore,the auther emphasizes tha exploitations on these natural resources will be needed.All specimens are deposited in the Mycological Herbarium of the Institute of Biology,Academia Guizhou(Kwichow).The author acknowledges professor Ren Wei for his enthusiastic help to his work.
