Abstract
A nuclear polyhedrosis virus disease of the larvae of Alphaea phasma(Leech)(Lepidoptera:Arctiidae) was found epidemic in Kunming in 1981.This virus mainly infringes the cell nucleus of the epidermis, tracheal wall and adipose tissue of the insect. The image of the polygonal bodies are triangular quarangular or other polyangular, measuring about l.03-1.66μ.The image of virons are rod-shaped and its ends appear to be abscinded. The virions measure about 55.5×333mμ.According to the international classification system,it should belong to Baculoviridae Subgroup A and be named as Alphaea phasma nuclear polyhedrosis virus abbreviated as APNPY.
