A STUDY ON AVIFAUNA OF XISHUANGBANNA-A Review

In 1950's,lots of work on avifauna of Xishuangbanna was done by bei-jing Zoology Institute and Zoology Department of Yunnan University.Great changes to check the work done before again.From 1983 to 1984,specimens were collected,and the authors made reference to the specimens(801 in all) collected and by Zoology Department of Yunnan University.Altogether,391 sp.and 355 subsp.have been identified and the total sp.and subsp,come to 423 under 52 families of 18 orders,41 sp.of which are newly distributed to the local avifauna.Among the breeding birds,350 sp.and subsp,are listed including 299 residental,51 summer migratory sp.319 sp.(75.4% of the total) show ori-ental affinity,48 sp.and subsp.(11.35%) belong to palaearctic,56 sp.and subsp.(13.24%) delong to the widely-distributing birds,while 73 sp.and subsp.are non-breedings 52 sp.and subsp,are winter migrants,and 21 sp.Become passing migrants.
