STUDIES ON EDIBLE FUNGI CULTURED BY USING PAMAKANI (EUPATORIUM ADENOPHORUM SPRENG)

  • This paper first reports that edible fungi are cultured by using pamakani, a kind of weed that is seriously harmful to animal husbandry, forestry and agriculture. It is a new and special method to control pamakani, the method can both control pamakani and change pamakani into a beneficial resource to culture edible fungi. Through the research for many years, the authors by using pamakani, have successfully cultured Pleurotus ostreatus, Pleurotus saior-caja, Flammulina velutipes, Auricularia auriculo, Auricularia polytricha, Hericium erinaceus and other edible fungi. The safety test has shown that the edible fungi cultured by using pamakani are safe and without any side-effect to human being, and the nutrition analysis has also shown that edible fungi cultured by pamakani contain rich aminoacids, proteins and other nurtures which are similar to edible fungi in nature.
