STUDIES ON THE MANGO STONE WEEVIL (STERNOCHETUS OLIVIERI FAUST) Ⅱ. Integrated management of this insect

  • This paper includes the life-span table of Sternochetus olivieri Faust from 1987~1988 in a mango orchard of Jinggu County, Southern yunnan, China, and the analysis of effects of Several major factors to the mortality of this pest.According to the sample studies of oviposition data of this insect, the egg spatial distribution accords with negative binomial distribution and conta- gious distribution.The present control status of this mango weevil is reviewed. The weevil control measures include improved orchard santitation treatments and timely application of some ovicides, such as Detamethrim, Esfenvalerate, Padan and Dimilin.The mixed solution of Esfenvalerate(1:2000) and Padan (1:1500) and GT-3(a plant extract) has shown a promising killing effect of 70.42%.
