A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON ANCIENT TREES OF TIBET

  • The ancient trees in Tibet are mainly distributed in the areas of Lhassa, Shangnan, Linzhi and Rigauze. They are classified into 47 species (varieties) in 16 families, many of which are endemic and rare species. The research shows that these ancient trees in Tibet are usually much higher and larger than those in any other provinces. They are generally recognized to connect with the Buddhist culture.
