A PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION ON COMMON PATHOGENIC PHYTOFARASITES OF RUBBER TREES AND TROPICAL FRUIT TREES IN YUNNAN

  • There are three common pathogenic phytoparasites of rubber trees and tropical fruit trees such as mango, pomelo, citrus, etc. in Yunnan, namely: Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq.(1856), Scurrula chingii (Cheng) H. S.Kiu, and Viscum ovalifolium DC.(1830) Danser (1941). The investigation in Xishuangbanna showed that, on the average, 5.0% of rubber trees and up to 74.2% in serious rubber stands. 52.7% of mangoes, 74.2% of pomelos, and 83.2% of citruses are parasitized. It the removal of pathogenic phytoparasites of pomelos and rubber trees is carried out, better results can be acchieved.
