A STUDY ON THE WOODY PLANT FLORA IN THE DABA MOUNTAINS

  • A systematical study on the woody plant flora in the Daba Mountains was pursued in this paper by means of an investigation on plant taxa. The result shous that the woody plant flora of the area is very abundant in species and very obvious in transition nature. As an area full of primitive temperate plants and ancient relic plants, this region shows itself to be an important refuge of tertiary flora.Based on the contrastive analyses on the floristic elements, and the common plant species between the Daba Mountains and the adjacent floristic regions, the authors believe that the plant flora of the Daba Mountains must be an edge of Central China Flora, and that it is likely to be the joint be-tween the sino-Himalayan and the Sino-Japanese patterns phytogeographically.
