  • In this paper the authors have studied the use of image information of multistage re-mote sensing for the forest site classification and site quality evaluation in Wangcang County of Sichuan Province(East river basin of Garling branch of yangtze river).There are a few sepecific procedures as follows:1.Using the LANDSAT digital image to interpret macroscopical forest site units.2.Using the aerial photographs to interpret detailed forest site units.3.Using the site factors to evaluating forest site quality.4.Site mapping.In this experiment,the result of investigating the forest site in Wangcang County was divided into 2 site areas,5 site sub-areas,2 site groups,and 27 site types.By check,it is verified that this method is efficient.
