A STUDY ON THE SPECIES OF AFIDENTULA KAPUR 1955 AND THEIR GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION

  • Afidentula Kapur was established by Dr.A.P.Kapur in 1955.Till now,14 species have been recorded in the world.5 species are found in China and the neighbouring countries of Indo-malayan region,2 species are discovered in north Vietnam,6 species are recorded in the New Guinea localities and the other species in west Pakistan(the authoress lacks about this literature).Amony these 13 species,known so far 7 species belong to Indomalayan subregion of Oriental region,the other 6 species belong to Austro-malayan subregion of Australian region but never distributed to Australian continent.The fauna of these species is from thirty degrees north latitude to ten degrees of south latitude,and from seventy degrees east longitude to one hundred and fifty degrees of east longitude.Therefore,these species of the genus may be considered the Indo-Malayan subregion of Oriental region as the Centerregion of original place.
