SEEDLING TEST OF OPEN-POLLINATION PROGENY OF PINUS ARMANDI PLUS TREES

  • Through field experiments progeny seedling test was conducted among 39 open-pollinated plus trees of Pinus armandi. The results showed that among the 39 families there is significant difference in thousand-seed weight, germinating rate, seedling height and seedling fresh weight. Family 21, 24, 25, 40, 41, 43 and 63 generally performed relatively well. Germinating rate was positively correlated with seedling height, and so was seedling height with seedling fresh weight. The correlation coefficients were 0.628** and 0.755** respectively.
