TIMBER-USED BAMBOO RESOURCE AND ITS INDUSTRIAL UTILIZATION IN YUNNAN PROVINCE

The timber-used bamboo resource, the present situation of its utilization and approaches of exploitation were introduced. It is suggested that to enhance the industrilized manufacture of bamboo timber be the ma jor trend of bamboo timber utilization. With the establishment of the high-output bamboo forest bases, enterprises should be set up to produce artificial boards, particularly high qualified "Replacing Wood By Bamboo" and "Better Bamboo Than Wood" products. These enterprises should start at a high level and stimulate the development of bamboo industry in Yunnan.
