AN INITIAL STUDY OF THE EFFECTIVE ACCUMULATION TEMPERATURE OF THE SCALE INSECT CRESCOCCUS CANDIDUS WANG

  • The research of effective accumulation temperature of insects arc commonly conducted under experimental condition with constant temperature, humidity, and controllable light. In this investigation, the scale insect Crescoccus candidus Wang is regarded as the research target. The effective accumulation temperature of its population under natural ecological condition is studied. The result shows that the effective accumulation temperature can be used for the forecast of the dispersal peak period of the nymphs of the species.
