STUDIES ON THE SEM STRUCTURE OF EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS UNDER DIFFERENT HABITATS

This paper deals with an anatomical study of the wood anatomy of Eucalyptus globulus Labill. from different habitats under scanning electron microscope(SEM). It gives a detailed description of the SEM structure in the wood of plaru. According to the SEM structure, there were two types vestured pits A and B on the vessel wall, mainly A; also borderd pits, colescent pits and crateriform pits; vestured pits on the tracheid wall, but less apertures; bordered pits and solar pits on the fibre tracheid wall; ecologate solar pits on Lhe fibre wall; crystal and crystal-like objects in a ray cell. The relationship between the size of vestured pits and ecological factors was analysed.
