STUDIES ON THE SEM STRUCTURE OF EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS UNDER DIFFERENT HABITATS

  • This paper deals with an anatomical study of the wood anatomy of Eucalyptus globulus Labill. from different habitats under scanning electron microscope(SEM). It gives a detailed description of the SEM structure in the wood of plaru. According to the SEM structure, there were two types vestured pits A and B on the vessel wall, mainly A; also borderd pits, colescent pits and crateriform pits; vestured pits on the tracheid wall, but less apertures; bordered pits and solar pits on the fibre tracheid wall; ecologate solar pits on Lhe fibre wall; crystal and crystal-like objects in a ray cell. The relationship between the size of vestured pits and ecological factors was analysed.
