RESEARCH ON MANGO INDUCING I. FLOWERING AND SHOOTING

  • This paper reports the successful results of a field test by applying three different inducer prescriptions for mango early flowering and hastening the active buds to flush. The functions of the three precriptions of inducer had revealed equal availabilities.Heading period and flowering stafe of the treated area are 20 to 30 days earlier than that of the control area.An average increase of the panicle length of treated area is 51.67 to 63.27% greater than that of the control area and the average increase of the dark green flush from the active bud of the treated area is 52.33 to 65.46% greater than that of the control area. The shoot of carabao mango grows as quickly as expected. In 12 to 19 days after spraying inducer, the shoot has grown up to 25 cm and 51 cm respectively.Test cultivars include:Mangiferae indica cv.sannin;M.inclica cv.wenchangbaiyi;M.indica cv.carabao and M.indica cv.maqiexu.The test area is 2.67 hm2.
