A Study on Clonal Multi-Trait Selection of Populus tomentosa

Multi-trait selection about growth, stem straightness, crown width andpest-resistence on P. tomenlosa was studied by using continuous selection, independentstandard selection, index seletion, restrained index seletion and principal componentseletion were proposed in this paper.The economic weight of different traits in P. tomentosa were determined, and desired clones which would be new varities of architectural wood, pulp-paper wood, plywood and pestresistence were selected.
