Evaluation of the Sika Deer Farming in Kunming Area

This paper attempts to make a systematic analysis and evaluation of the feasibility of local deer farming. Therefore, deer farming investigation was carried out locally on the following farms:Chengong Wild-horse Deer Farm, Songming Army Farm, and Xishan Unity Deer Farm. Results showed that the prospects of the markets and economic conditions of deer farming development were encouraging and natural conditions were good. Feeding and management, reproduction, preventive and therapy,stanching bleeding, etc. have reached a certain level technically. According to the principles of allocating resource efficiently and obtaining financial profits highly, a scheme ofmiddle scale deer farm was drawn up. A series of financial analysis was made. In conclusion, deer farming in Kunming area is a high inputoutput business. It is feasibleeconomically and has good prospects. Some suggestions are presented.
