Five Species of Formicidae Newly Recorded in China(Hymenoptera:Formicidae)

  • Five species of the ant family Formicidae newly recorded in China were discovered in the Xishuangbanna Nature Reserve of Southern Yunnan and Tongbiguan Nature Reserve of Western Yunnan.These species are:Pachycondyla bispinosa Smith, Crematogaster anthracina Smith, Tetramorium indosinense Wheeler, Myrmoteras binghamii Forel,and Polyrhachis bihamata (Drury). Myrmoteras Forel is a new record genus in China.Measurements and illustrations are supplemented for the worker caste of each species.
