An Inquiry into the Lower Fruiting and Germimation Rate of Chrysanthemum cvs.

Based on breeding literature and practice, the cross-breeding lower fruiting and germination rates of Chrysanthemum cvs. are discussed in this paper with examples. There are many factors that may affect the fruiting and germination rates including the cross-compatibility of crossing-combinationns and pollen-sacsterility caused by meiospore abnormality, allopolyploidy, germplasm, unisexual-fruiting, autoospheric-temperature, artificial pollination skill, etc.
