Abstract
Opuntia ficus-indica, a multi-purpose economic plant introduced from abroad, can be cultivated as fruit, vegetable and forage and used to breed Dactylopius coccus Costa.On the basis of a preliminary study on its introduction and reproduction, this paper deals with its sexual and asexual reproduction methods and the analyses of main ecological factors that affect its growth and proliferation.
