A Study on the Relationship between Height Increment of Betula alnoides Plantation and Site Condition

  • On the basis of investigated materials in the plot, a relationship between height increment of Betula alnoides plantation and site conditions was analyzed with simple regression and stepwise variable selection. The results showed that the top height and mean height of the plantation increased as the increasing of slope location (from mountaintop to the valley) and the thickness of humus-layer with linear function. By the contrast, the top height and the mean height of the plantation decreased as the increasing of soil elastic and rock content with linear function. And the multiple equations were worked out in the paper, which provided a foundation for the site selection and evaluation of Betula alnoides plantation.
