A Study on Growth and Blossom in Clone Seed Stand of Pinus kesiya var.langbianensis

The growth and blossom of clone seed stand of Pinus kesiya var.langbianensis in Puwen,Yunnan Province were observed and studied in March,2001.There were 16 plus tree clones and 161 ramets.They were grafted by random design in 1996.Five characteristics were investigated and analyzed.These were height,breast height diameter,crown size,and male and female strobili yield of clones.The results showed that the differences of growth between clones were the most evident.The variation of strobili yields between clones was the most significant.The different clones had different female and male tendency,some clones were more female and less male,some were less female and more male.In addition,there was sharp relativity between growth and flowering of clones,strong growth produced more flowers.Strengthening tree management was important.
