A Study on the Timber Property of the Magnolia officinalis Plantation

By studying the timber physical and strength properties of the Magnolia officinalis of different planting density control,the results showed that the influences of different planting density control on the physical and chemical properties such as fibre properties,chemical composition,basic density and shrinkage properties were not remarkable,but those on the timber strength properties were remarkable and the wood indices of high density group were the highest.According to the timber technology performance and the biological properties of Magnolia officinalis,it was cultivater suitably for timber forest of building,furniture and decoration woods.The forest density of Magnolia officinalis was suitable for middle density group(1 505 bodies of/hm²) under its experimental conditions and not too high.
