A Study on Technology of Extracting and Purification of Stigmasterol
The wastrel of soy oil is saponified with saturated NaOH solution.A compound has been isolated both by crystallization and chromatography.Its structure has been identified as stigmasterol on basis of physical and chemical constants and IR,MS,NMR spectral analysises.Crystallization method is simple and suitable for factory produciton.
