  • Morphology,biological characteristics and food taking amount of the larvae of pine caterpillar have been studied.The results show that D.houi has one generation every year in Tengchong County and spends the winter by the egg stage.The maximum food taking amount of Pinus yunnanensis needles in the whole larval stage is 12 812 cm,the minimum one is 6 661 cm,and the average one is 9 619.7 cm.The duration of each stage of the insect is determined.
