The Characteristics of Important Economic Bamboo Species of Yunnan and Problems in Plantation

Huge bamboo of Dendrocalamus brandisii,D.hamiltonii,D.latiflorus and Phyllostachys heterocycla cv.pubescens are important economic bamboo resources of Yunnan,which have been planted more widely inside and outside Yunnan recent years.According to their ecological characteristics,and by analyzing their status after transplanting in other different regions,the author showed that low temperature of winter hindered these huge tropical bamboo species of D.brandisii,D.hamiltonii,D.latiflorus from being planted successfully,and drought of winter-spring limited Ph.heterocycla cv.pubescens growthing well after plantation.Furthermore,the author summarized the dominating problems and mistakes in bamboo plantation currently.
