Breeding Experiment of Denrocalamus brandisii by Root Inducement in the Air

  • Root inducement in the air is one of the seedling breeding methods for Dendrocalamus brandisii. The nursery breeding experiment of single factor(soil condition) with 5 levels(from the best to the worst) after root inducement in the air indicated that the site condition is one of the most important factors influencing on root inducing effect. The nursery breeding survival rate of cuttings through root inducement in the air could be significantly increased by mixing humus soil with mountainous red soil at the proportion 1:1 as nursery substrate. The planting survival rate of one-year seedlings reached over 90% in the experiment.
