Study on Community Characteristics of Cerasus cerasoides

  • The height of Cerasus cerasoides community is from 10 to 20 m, the total coverage is 70%~90%. Theaceae and Lauraceae are the predominant families, and Schima wallichii and Lindera communis are the predominant species in this kind of C.cerasoides community.Evergreen plants hold a biggest position (92.9%)including evergreen microphanerophytes and nanopanerophytes (73.3%), simple (77.9%), chartaceous (63.8%), entire (65.4%), caudal (52.1%)mesophylls (69.6%).There are many woody lianas in the interlayer of the community, which demonstrate characteristics of the secondary monsoon evergreen broadleaf forest in the south-subtropical region of China. The DBH class distribution of the arbor tree species shows an obvious pyramid type, seedlings and young saplings account for the majority of the community showing that the community is in the vigorous growing stage.Cerasus cerasoides population usually regenerates by seedlings, and the root sprouts also show strong reproduction capacity, indicating that the Cerasus cerasoides is a stable population in the community and will not degrade under natural conditions.
