Establishment of Property Index System of Powdered Phenol -Formaldehyde Resins and Its Application

Though manufacture and application of powdered phenol -formaldehyde resins have been very important to wood product industry, there has not been a property index system so far.A property index system of powdered phenol -formaldehyde resins was established based on the physico -geometrical, mechanical and technical properties of this kind of products.The principles of index selection for this property index system, corresponding standards for each index and related testing methods were also discussed.According to the above, normal properties of five types of powdered phenol -formaldehyde resins were tested.It is supposed that this property index system could be applied to and provide technical support and guidance to the manufacture of other wood product adhesives, such as powdered urea -formaldehyde resin and melamine -formaldehyde resin.
