Application of Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process to Environmental Impact Assessment of Highway Projects

  • A comprehensive evaluation model based on analytical hierarchy process and fuzzy mathematics to compare the impact of alternative schemes of a highway project on environment in projected areas was presented. In this model, the judgment matrix was constructed with triangular fuzzy data so as to show the fuzziness and uncertainty of subjective judgment. The experts' evaluations could be synthesized by weighted average in the model, so the influence of certain experts' biased scoring might be reduced moderately. An example was provided to demonstrate the application process and to verify the effectiveness and reasonableness of this model.
