Abstract
The spatial heterogeneity of the forest landscape of the tropical rainforest of Tongbiguan Nature Forest was studied by means of analyzing aerial-photograph, map of forest distribution, and information about land utilization. The results showed that the forest landscape of the area consisted of 16 components, among which the patches of monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest and tropical mountainous rainforest dominated the general landscape. However, these patches were sparsely distributed and isolated in island forms. It was proposed that some biological corridors should be built among large forest patches in order to enhance species exchange. In addition, there are some farmland patches in Tongbiguan Nature Reserve, the frequent anthropogenic activities in the surrounding area are potential threats to conservation targets.Carrying out the national project of "Converting the Sloping Farmland to Forests" in the area will be beneficial to restore the natural ecological environment in the nature reserve.
