Studies on Landscape Pattern Changes Based on Markov Model in Overcutting Forest Region, Northeast China

  • Based on class II investigation data on forest resources of Jingoulin Experimental Forest Farm under Wangqing Forestry Bureau, Jilin Province, which were collected in 1987 and 1997 individually, the dynamic change course of forest landscape pattern in the studied area was simulated with Markov Model by means of map overlapping to extract relevant transformation data of the local landscape pattern. The results showed that there was no evident difference between the forecast value showing the change of forest landscape pattern in the studied are and the actual value measured. It was indicated that the future change of forest landscape pattern of Jingoulin Experimental Forest Farm could be simulated by this model.
