Preliminary Analysis on Sandstorm Related Factors Based on Gray Correlation Theory

  • Some researches demonstrate that the mean annual days with sandstorm weather conditions in Tibet has been decreasing remarkably since the mid 1980's. Based on the meteorological data observed between 1992 and 1995, the correlations among the meteorological factors and the sandstorm weather conditions in Rikazhe City were analyzed by means of correlation analysis of Grey System Theory. The conclusions were as follows:Temperature, vegetation cover and wind velocity made the most important contribution to formation of sandstorm weather. The global warming effect, and the increment of the vegetation coverage were beneficial to reduce sandstorm weather conditions.
