The Spatial Characteristics and Layout of Tourism Resources in Changdu, Tibet

A two-grade tourism resource dividing system was proposed for Changdu Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, based on analyzing the investigation data of 1056 tourism resource units, and by means of comparative studies on the spatial characteristics of the tourism resources and regional heterogeneity of natural ecological environment. The first grade of the division included 6 resource areas, and the second grade of the division was composed of 14 resource areas. According to the quantitative analyses on the first grade resource areas, it was proposed that the tourism function in Changdu Prefecture should be oriented to natural sightseeing ecotourism, cultural sightseeing ecotourism and professional ecotourism including scientific research exploration, religious pilgrimage, worshiping of Buddhists, folk-custom landscape, gala celebration and other special tourism.
