Study on Nutrient Distribution Features in Dendrocalamus minor Bamboo Plantation Soil in the Coastal Sandy Area

  • A study on nutrient distribution features in different organs of Dendrocalamus minor plantation in coastal sandy area was carried out, and the following results were obtained. The concentrations of N nutrient in the culms, branches and leaves of different-aged plants increased with height increment of the bamboos except for the one-year-old branches, presenting one-peak variation tendency. The concentrations of P, K and Mg in different parts of the bamboos also tended to increase with height growth. Each nutrient concentration in different organs was in the order of culm> branch> leaf, and the nutrient concentrations in different organs of one-year-old plants were higher than in those of two-year-old bamboo plants. The order of varied nutrient content proportions in D. minor plants of different ages was as N> P> Mg> K> Ca. These chemical elements were mainly distributed in arbor layer of the D. minor stand, while the amounts of N, P, K, Ca nutrients in the bamboo culms accounted for 45.00%, 50.48%, 49.84% and 47.04% respectively of the total quantity in the arbor layer. However, the largest portion of Mg nutrient was stored in bamboo leaves. The litter layer in the D. minor plantation stored more N and P, whereas the herbaceous layer in the plantation contained more K, Ca and Mg nutrient elements.
