Study on the Thin-layer Chromatography of Flavonoid Extracted from Genus of Keteleeria

  • 10 species and 2 varieties in genus Keteleeria were studied by thin-layer chromatography of flavonoid by sampling leaves as experimental materials. It was demonstrated by the results that there were obvious differences in chromatograms among different species, and each species had its specific type of chromatogram. The tested 10 species and 2 varieties were classified into 9 species and 1 eco-variety according to the types of chromatograms of flavonoid, which could fall into 4 groups. The former 4 species were merged into 2 species separately. The results were that K. fortunei, K. cyclolepis and K. oblonga might be categorized into one group, K. pubesecens itself was in the second group, K. davidiana,K. calcarea,K. formosana fell into the third group, and K. evelyniana,K. xerophila,K. hainanensis were categorized into the fourth group. It was suggested that K. davidiana var. chien-peii be merged with K. davidiana, and K. evelyniana var. pendula should be merged with K. evelyniana. In addition, it was believed that K. xerophila should be a new variety of K. evelyniana var. xerophila.
