Preliminary Report on Growth Status of Cunninghamia lanceolata Pure Plantation on the Cut-over Site

  • Inside the mixed plantations composed of different broadleaved tree species with Cunninghamia lanceolata, there was no evident difference in the growth rate of young C.lanceolata trees, but there were greater differences in the growth rates among the young trees of the varied broadleaved tree species. The differences in the stocking volume of the broadleaved trees at the age of 11-year old were extremely significant. The stocking volume of different stands decreased in the order as C. lanceolata mixed with Choerospondias axillaris> C. lanceolata mixed with Alniphyllum fortunei> C. lanceolata pure stand> C. lanceolata mixed with Schima superba> C. lanceolata mixed with Michelia macclurei.
