Preliminary Experiment on Propagation of Cycas panzhihuaensis

  • The natural propagation properties of Cycas panzhihuaensis population were investigated, and experiments of artificial pollination and propagation were conducted. The results showed that tillering was the dominant manner of propagation for Cycas panzhihuaensis natural population, while the seedling propagation was rarely observed. It was showed that artificial pollination could significantly improve the seed output. The survival rate of one-year-old seedling of Cycas panzhihuaensis could reach 69%.
