Study on Ultrasonic Extraction of Brown Pigment from Walnut Shell

  • The feasibility to extract brown pigment from the walnut shell by means of ultrasonic technique was studied, and the influences of ultrasonic treatment duration, solvent for extraction and the ratio between solid and liquid on the extraction rate of brown pigment from walnut shell was discussed. It was showed that the highest extraction rate of the brown pigment reached 7.25% when the ultrasonic extraction time was 40 minutes, the concentration of alcohol in the solvent was 50% and the ratio between solid and liquid was 1:10(w/w).
