Effects of Plant Growth Regulators on Rooting and Growth of Schefflera bodinieri Cuttings

The effects of IBA and ABT No.2 plant growth regulators on the callus growth and rooting of Schefflera bodinieri were studied by taking the branches as cuttings, perlite and peat as substrates for the cuttage. The cuttings were separately treated with 200mg/L of IBA and 200mg/L of ABT No.2 rooting powder solutions. The results showed that both of IBA and ABT No.2 rooting powder had positive effect on the formation of callus tissue and adventitious roots. Both of IBA and ABT would inhibit the sprout growth. It was showed that IBA treatment could better promote the rooting process of S. bodinieri cuttings.
