Research Advances on Insect Pests of Pinus armandii

  • 191 pest insect species of Pinus armandii, belonging to 105 genera, 35 families, and 7 orders of Insecta have been recorded in China. Among which pest species in Coleoptera order accounted for the most, then followed by Lepidoptera and Hemiptera orders. Most of the insect pest species to Pinus armandii were borers damaging to trunk, twigs and branches, followed by foliage pests, seedling pests, root pests, and cone or seed pests. The major species of insect pests were selected out of the total according to the harmfulness extent to the Pinus armandii tree species.
