A Preliminary Study on the Exotic Invasive Plants in Yunnan Province

It was showed by the field survey and literature consultation that so far there were 55 exotic invasive plant species belonging to 21 families and 47 genera in Yunnan Province. In term of the damage might be brought about, these invasive plant species could be classified into different groups, i.e., severely harmful species, potentially severe harmful specie, seriously intrusive specie, poisonously intrusive specie, generally intrusive specie and potentially harmful plant species. It was showed that many of the invasive plant species had caused damage to local ecology and economy. The intruding approaches of the exotic invasive plant species were analyzed and some suggestions were put forward to tackle with the exiting problems.
