Analysis on Fruit Traits of Superior Individuals of Jatropha curcas in Yunnan Province

A study on eight different traits of Jatropha curcas fruit was carried out in Yunnan Province by sampling fruits produced by superior individuals.The following results were summarized from the study.There were differences in each trait among the individuals,indicating diversity and variation among the superior individuals.There were extremely significant positive correlations between single fruit weight and the length of the fruit;single fruit weight and the seed thickness;single seed weight and the seed thickness;the single seed weight and the single fruit weight;the fat content and the seed thickness;fat content and the single weed weight.The regressive empirical equations were set up for the fat content and single seed weight,seed thickness,the seed length and single fruit weight respectively by regression analyses.The single seed weight,seed thickness,seed length,single fruit weight were all significantly correlated to the fat content of the seed,indicating these indexes would affect the fat content in a certain way.
