Study on Biological Characteristics and Molecular Identification of Pathogens Causing Root Rot of Camellia oleifera

  • Pathogens from rotten root of Camellia oleifera were isolated and identified.Molecular phylogenetic trees of some pathogen strains were expatiated through morphological characteristics observation,rDNA transcription, sequence determination of the internal transcribed spacer(ITS) and by Blastn search in the Genbank.Based on morphological characteristics and molecular phylogenetic trees,it was concluded that the pathogens to cause root rot of Camellia oleifera was Fusarium moniliform. The study on biological properties of the isolated pathogen showed that the optimal temperature for the pathogen was 25 ℃,the optimal pH range for its growth was 6~7,the best carbon source was soluble starch and the best nitrogen source was NH4Cl.
